Dr. John H. Leith, 1919 to 2002
Dr. John H. Leith, Pemberton Professor of Theology at Union Theological Seminary in Virginia and a leading interpreter of John Calvin, founded this work to ensure that ministers and elders would always have a place to read deeply, think carefully, and recover what the church has confessed in every age.
His vision was unsentimental and exact: that the recovery of the Reformed tradition is not a matter of nostalgia but of fidelity to the gospel entrusted to the church.
